Lowlands
What is Lowlands?
Lowlands is a three-day music festival that has been organized annually in Biddinghuizen since 1993.
At lowlands you can hear the best music from different genres, from rock to hip-hop. There is not only music, but also literature, film, cabaret, ballet, theater and comics, which makes Lowlands so unique.

In this app, you can see exactly all the information you need during or before the festival.
I created the homepage and 6 other pages in the app in the style and colours I chose. Each page looks slightly different because the style I chose is chaotic, busy and colourful and it does match well.
I made everything in Adobe XD, except the illustrations. I made those in Illustrator.
Animated gifs
I first drew these gifs in Illustrator in all layers so that I could transfer the layers into After Effects.
These gifs are all designed in the psychedelic style. I also looked up what the colours mean. Yellow stands for happiness and energy, purple stands for magic and spirituality, the colour orange means happy and positivity and pink stands for passion and charm. All these colour meanings match the brand values I chose for my corporate identity.
Moodboards
Here are the three brand values I choose. Playful is an important part, because everyone is enjoying themselves and being crazy and happy at Lowlands. Energetic also suits it because there is a lot of dancing and singing which gives you more energy. Psychedelic I think suits the festival because many people are in a different world because they take drugs.

This is the feeling I get from Lowlands. Crazy, fun, trippy and colourful. I like applying this style, because most people who enter this festival also experience it this way.

These are the ideas that first came to mind. I also ended up working on several sketches, because everything is in the same style so I thought it would be fun to have several designs reflected in my app.
